- Roger Taney represented Jacob Winter in this petition to have a decision rendered against him, and in favor of Jonathan Haslett, for 20 dollars plus interest accrued overturned. Previously, John Huston Esquire, a Justice of the Peace for Frederick County, had ruled against Winter and declared that he owed Haslett 20 dollars with interest for a debt. Winter maintained that this decision was unjust and contrary to the equity & right of the matter because the judgment should have been found in his favor in the first ruling on the matter.
