- Peter Boyer accused Peter Shriner of trespassing on his property by breaking and entering into the tobacco house and taking ten thousand pounds weight of tobacco. Peter Shriner, represented by Roger Taney, maintained that at that time, the land known as The Resurvey (where the Tobacco house was situated) in fact was his property and he had the right to act as he did.
