Typed letter from John M. Harlan (then a Circuit Judge and Supreme Court nominee) to E. Barrett Prettyman, Jr., inviting him to stay on as law clerk for the remainder of the term. Prettyman was a clerk for Justice Jackson, who died in October 1954. Justice Harlan replaced Justice Jackson on the Supreme Court. Dated 10 November 1954.
