Collection Description & Arrangement
This collection of photographs depict Frank S. Tavenner acting in various capacities as the government's counsel on behalf of the House Un-American Activities Committee in 1952 and 1954. HUAC was an investigative committee formed by the U.S. House charged with investigating subversive activities of private American citizens and organizations suspected of being connected to or supportive of communist or fascist activities.
