Naoki Hoshino was the chief civilian official in the Japanese government for Manchuria.  During the Tokyo War Crimes Trials, Hoshino was defended by G. Carrington Williams, the International Defense Section (IDS) counsel for the International Military Tribunal for the Far East (IMTFE).
