George Wilson was born in Richmond, VA in 1895. He joined the New York firm of Breed, Abbott and Morgan (now Whitman, Breed, Abbott and Morgan) upon graduation from the Law School in 1920 and became a partner in 1928 where he remained with the firm until his death in 1967. WHen he died, his will stipulated that a trust he established for Elisabeth should pass on to the Law School when she died. In turn, Mrs. Wilson chose to leave the Law School the residual of her own estate. Those two bequests total more than $6million for unrestricted use, the largest estate gift ever received by the Law School.
