Handwritten letter on Law Department stationary dated 18 February 1893.  The letter is in response to a request from Manning for Minor's opinion on the interests created by the following devise by deed:  "to M in trust for M.J.P. for her life, and if R.O.P., her husband, shall outlive M.J.P., then to R.O.P. for his life, remainder after the termination of the said life estates to the heirs of R.O.P."  On the reverse of the letter is a note from Manning apparently to the Judge determining the case in which the devise was in dispute, offering Minor's opinion in opposition to his own.
