The papers of Hardy Cross Dillard span 1925-1981 and document his career as law professor, legal scholar, and dean of the University of Virginia School of Law; his career in the U.S. Army during and after World War II; and his years as judge on the International Court of Justice. There is extensive correspondence with other scholars, particularly in the fields of international law and political science, and with other ICJ judges.
