Desmond, then Chief Judge of the New York Court of Appeals, regarding a series of lectures in honor of Justice Jackson, dated 20 April 1966. The series would eventually be published as "Mr. Justice Jackson: Four Lectures in his Honor" by the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the William Nelson Cromwell Foundation in 1969.
